Join me on my incredible journey through the Annapurna Round Trek, organized by the Sherpa Trekking Company. It was an adventure filled with breathtaking landscapes, cultural encounters, and unforgettable experiences.
Starting the Journey: Kathmandu to Besi Sahar
Day 1 began in the bustling city of Kathmandu. We set off for Besi Sahar, a charming village with stunning hillside views. Upon arrival in the late afternoon, we relaxed with a hot cup of tea and local snacks before settling in for the night.
Ascending to Bahundanda
On Day 2, we climbed 600 meters to reach Bahundanda, a picturesque rural village. The journey took us through small settlements and terraced fields of barley, millet, and potatoes cultivated by local farmers.
Descent to Tal
Day 3 brought a 500-meter descent to the village of Tal. Here, we were welcomed warmly by the locals and enjoyed a delicious hot meal, followed by an evening of traditional music and singing.
Reaching Bagarchap
The fourth day involved a challenging 1,000-meter climb to Bagarchap. We crossed multiple ridges, two suspension bridges, and dense forests before arriving at our destination by nightfall. A warm cup of tea and local delicacies provided a comforting end to the day.
Through Chame and Pisang
Day 5 was a five-hour trek to the lively village of Chame, where we paused for lunch. Afterward, we tackled a steep climb to Pisang, reaching just in time for a well-earned rest.
Exploring Manang
On Day 7, we embarked on a seven-hour trek to Manang, a high-altitude village offering stunning Himalayan views. The following day, we took a much-needed break to explore the surroundings and acclimate.
Conquering Thorong La Pass
The ninth day was a tough climb of 1,800 meters via Latdar and Thorung Phedi. On Day 10, we faced the most challenging part of the trekâcrossing the Thorong La Pass, the highest point of the journey. The breathtaking views made the effort worthwhile before we descended to Muktinath.
Descending to Jomsom and Tatopani
Day 11 involved a steep 1,800-meter descent to Jomsom, where we stopped for lunch before reaching Tukuche by nightfall. The following days took us through the countryside, with a stop in Kalopani and a delightful lunch in Tatopani.
Ghorepani and Ghandruk
On Day 17, we ascended 900 meters to Ghorepani, where we witnessed a magnificent sunrise over the Annapurna range. The next day, we trekked to the scenic village of Ghandruk and enjoyed a homestay experience with a local family.
Final Descent to Pokhara
The nineteenth day marked our descent of 1,800 meters to Pokhara, where we finally indulged in a well-deserved rest and sampled delicious local cuisine. On the last day, we drove back to Kathmandu, completing an unforgettable adventure.
Final Thoughts
