Kyile Ronnest Annapurna Sanctuary Journey Experience Story
We – me and my group of friends – had been planning to trek the Annapurna Sanctuary for quite some time and finally made the move. We signed up with Sherpa Trekking Company, and they had us covered for the journey. We started our adventure with a drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The view was spectacular as we passed through small villages with the Annapurna range in the background.
Scenic Drive to Nayapul
After reaching Pokhara, we had the option to take a drive or flight to Nayapul the next day. We chose the drive, as the route from Pokhara to Nayapul is incredibly scenic. The next morning, we embarked on the drive and soon found ourselves ascending through terraced hills. After hours of meandering through small villages, we reached Tirkhedhunga, where our trek officially began.
Starting the Trek to Ghorepani
We began our trek to Ghorepani after resting and having lunch at Tirkhedhunga. The trail was challenging but rewarding, and we arrived at Ghorepani in the evening. The view of the Annapurna Range from there was absolutely breathtaking.
Sunrise at Poonhill
The fourth day was particularly special. We woke up early to hike to Poonhill and witness the sunrise over the Himalayan Range. It was a magical experience as the first light of the day slowly illuminated the mountain peaks. After soaking in the awe-inspiring view, we continued our journey to Tadapani, stopping for lunch and rest in Ghorepani.
Journey to Chomrong and Himalaya Hotel
The trail led us to Chomrong, where we took a short rest and had dinner. From there, we set off for Himalaya Hotel, with the holy mountain of Machapuchare in view. Upon reaching Himalaya Hotel, we were greeted by a stunning view of the Annapurna Range in all its glory.
Climbing to Machapuchare Base Camp
The next day, we started early and embarked on a steep climb to Machapuchare Base Camp. The views of the valley were spectacular, and we took a few hours to rest and absorb the beauty around us. Later, we continued our journey to Annapurna Base Camp, arriving late in the day.
Annapurna Base Camp Experience
The valley at Annapurna Base Camp was nothing short of spectacular. The Annapurna Range and Machapuchare Peak stood front and center, creating a view we will never forget. It was the highlight of our trek.
Descending to Sinuwa and Jhinudanda
The following day, we trekked downhill to Sinuwa, where we stopped for lunch. Afterward, we proceeded to Jhinudanda and decided to take a break to visit the nearby hot spring. It was a relaxing way to unwind after days of trekking.
Final Stretch to Pokhara
From Jhinudanda, we made our way through Tolka and reached Dhamphus in the evening. Finally, we trekked back to Phedi and took a drive from there back to Pokhara. After an exhilarating two-week journey, we returned to Pokhara with unforgettable memories.
