Shakura Kim Chi: Tengboche Monastery Trek Story!
I arrived in Kathmandu ready to start my trekking experience over Tengboche Monastery Trek organized by the Sherpa Trekking Company. After I took a morning flight to Lukla, the starting point of this trek, I began my journey. The first day was an easy and short walk to Phakding at 2640 meters, where I was able to spend the night in a teahouse.
The next day, I set off for Namche Bazaar, a charming Sherpa village situated at 3440 meters in altitude. After a few hours of walking, I made it there and I knew this would be an incredible place to spend a day to get acclimated. The beautiful view of the Himalayas left me awestruck, and the fascinating culture of the local Sherpas amazed me.
The next few days were spent trekking up to Thame at 3800 meters and Khumjung at 3790 meters, before making our way to the stunning Tengboche Monastery at 3860 meters. We explored the area around the Monastery for a few days, admiring the breathtaking views of some of the world's highest peaks, including Everest and Lhotse.
Afterwards, it was time to start our descent back to Lukla, a process which brought us through Namche and down to Phakding. On the last day of our trek, I headed to Lukla for my flight back to Kathmandu, and the experience was over. I had had a great time in the Himalayas, and the Sherpa Trekking Company had provided excellent service and support throughout the journey, from the flight to Lukla to the teahouse accommodations.
I will certainly never forget my trekking in the Himalayas, and I’m already looking forward to my next adventure!
