My experience trekking the Annapurna Round trek organized by the Sherpa Trekking Company was nothing short of amazing. Day 1 began bright and early in Kathmandu where we set off for Besi Sahar, a small village with beautiful views of the nearby hills. After our arrival in the late afternoon, we enjoyed a hot cup of tea with local snacks and settled in for the night. Day 2 was a steady climb of 600 meters from Besi Sahar to Bahundanda, a beautiful rural village offering some of the best views of the Annapurnas in the area. During the trek, we crossed several small villages and terraced fields of barley, millet and potatoes planted by local farmers. The third day was a descent of about 500 meters to the village of Tal, where we were welcomed by the locals with a hot meal. The night was spent in this village, enjoying traditional music and singing shared by the locals.
The fourth day started with a steep climb of about 1,000 meters to Bagarchap. We crossed several ridges and ridges, crossed two river suspension bridges and some dense forests. We arrived at Bagarchap by nightfall, and after settling in for the night we enjoyed a hot cup of tea together with some local delicacies. The next day we walked about 5 hours to the busy village of Chame, where we stopped for lunch. After dinner we continued up the steep climb to Pisang where we arrived by evening and enjoyed a much deserved rest. The seventh day was a 7-hour trek to the high-altitude village of Manang, where we enjoyed the stunning Himalayan views. The following day was a day of rest and exploration of the surroundings of Manang.
The ninth day was a tough climb of about 1,800 meters via Latdar, where we had lunch, and Thorung Phedi. The tenth day was the toughest day of the trek, with the highest point at the challenging Thorong La pass. After reaching the top of the pass and taking in the stunning views, we descended to the village of Muktinath. The eleventh day was a long and steep descent of about 1,800 meters to Jomsom, where we stopped for lunch and finally reached Tukuche by night. On day twelve, we trekked through the countryside to Kalopani and had our lunch in Tatopani. On the following day, we enjoyed a short trek to the village of Sikha, a beautiful and picturesque village set in the heart of the Annapurna region. Day seventeen was a steep and beautiful climb of 900 meters to Ghorepani and we enjoyed a magnificent sunrise over the mountains from the local viewpoint. On the eighteenth day, we trekked to the picturesque village of Ghandruk, where we spent the night with a local family. The nineteenth day was a descent of about 1,800 meters to Pokhara, where we enjoyed a much-needed rest and local delicacies. Finally, the twentieth day was a drive back to Kathmandu. It was an incredible experience trekking the Annapurna Round trek, and I'm grateful to the Sherpa Trekking Company for giving me the chance to witness the beauty of the Annapurna region.
