Kyile Ronnest -Annapurna Sanctuary Trekking Experience Story:
We – me and my group of friends – had been planning to trek the Annapurna Sanctuary for quite some time and finally made the move. We signed up with Sherpa Trekking Company and they had us covered for the journey.
We started our journey with a drive from Kathmandu up to Pokhara. The view was spectacular, as we were passing through small villages, with the Annapurna range in the background. After we reached Pokhara, we had the option to take a drive or flight to Nayapul the next day, as the drive from Pokhara to Nayapul is very scenic.
The next morning, we chose to take the drive and soon found ourselves ascending through terraced hills. After hours of meandering through small villages, we reached Tirkhedhunga, where our trek was supposed to start. We began the trek to Ghorepani after taking some rests and having lunch at Tirkhedhunga. We arrived at Ghorepani in the evening, and had an amazing view of the Annapurna Range.
The fourth day was our most special one, as we took a trip to Poonhill to see the sunrise over the Himalayan Range. It was an amazing experience to see the first light of the day slowly illuminating the mountain peaks. After soaking in the awe-inspiring view, we proceeded to Tadapani, after a good lunch and rest in Ghorepani.
The trail kept winding down and soon we reached Chomrong. After a short rest, we had dinner and set off for Himalaya Hotel, with the holy mountain of Machapuchare in view. As we reached Himalaya Hotel, we were astonished to find a breathtaking view of the Annapurna Range in all its glory.
The next day, we started early and had a steep climb up to Machapuchare Base Camp, where we were taken aback by the spectacular views of the gorgeous valley before us. After a few hours of rest, we journeyed up to Annapurna Base Camp and arrived late in the day. The valley that was presented before us was spectacular, with the Annapurna Range and the Machapuchare Peak front and center.
The following day, we trekked downhill to Sinuwa, where we stopped to have lunch and afterwards we proceeded to Jhinudanda. We decided to take a break here and visited the hot spring close by. After that, we made our way through Tolka and reached Dhamphus in the evening. Finally, we decided to trek back to Phedi and had a drive from there back to Pokhara.
Finally, after an exciting journey of two weeks, we managed to come back to Pokhara. We packed our bags and boarded a flight back to Kathmandu, with all our memories intact. It was an amazing journey and it has definitely been memorable one for me and my friends. The guidance and expertise of the professionals at Sherpa Trekking Company was top-notch and fun, making every step of our journey memorable.
