All About Lower Dolpa 20 Days Trekking:
Dolpo Trek in the Trans Himalayan Zone of Nepal offers a unique combination of natural beauty, rich culture, and stunning landscapes. Trekkers can expect to explore snow leopards in Shey-Phoksundo National Park and the deepest lake in the Himalayan region – Phoksundo Lake. Surprisingly untouched by human progress, the Dolpo region is a shelter to rare alpine living. Trekking in Dolpo requires good hiking experience, as the route is narrow and steep in places. The trekking circuit starts from Kathmandu and ends up in Nepalgunj, ranging from an altitude of 2500m to 5450m, and exploring different cultures throughout. The 20-day trek itinerary includes scenic flights or road trips between several destinations. Day 1 starts with a flight to Nepalgunj, followed by a trek from Jumla to Gothi Chaur the next day. Moving higher in the landscape, trekkers will make their way from Gothi Chaur to Naphukana, and from Chaurikot to Hurikot. From here on out, the route gets more challenging as hikers will have to traverse the Kagmara pass (5400m) before descending to Yudon, Rigmo, and Bagala Phedi. Finally, the grand finale is an ascent of Numla Pass (5149m) followed by hiking downhill towards Dhotarap, Rigo Phucave, Lahini, Khani Gaon, Dunai, and Juphal.
